Hi everyone! Available May - October. Minimum age 25. We prefer couples, but will consider singles, especially if DIY/gardening skills are involved! ABOUT US: We're a couple, in our early 60s. Healthy, active and young at heart. We've travelled all our adult lives, done loads of helpx-type placements (mainly in NZ, UK, Thailand and SA), and we've been self-employed for almost all of our working lives (teaching, music festival boutique, and Julie is still a professional horse trainer). We have eased-off now but still seem to be pretty busy. We love being active and involved, (yoga, karate, mtb, horse training, tennis, walking, running, exploring), and we love hosting on Helpx - it's a great way to keep meeting new people, keep learning new stuff, and getting help with other stuff! We offer abundant healthy food, and a really lovely, clean, comfy, sweet home with a good vibe. There's lots to see and do locally. WHO WE WOULD LIKE TO ATTRACT: Over 25 yrs of age. DIY, semi-skil...

Come and join us, we believe it's one of the most beautiful parts of Australia. We are approx. 4 hours north of Cairns near Cooktown. There is always something happening but our farm is also tranquil and relaxing. The area is often referred to as, 'The last frontier', due to the extreme weather & wildlife and the area is filled with a lot of history. We had a natural disaster with excessive flooding in December. Still work to be done though it is labour intensive and physical including constructing fences and cleaning up plant nurseries. The heat has settled a bit but still a challenge. A whole different experience if you are keen to give us a go. We need helpers who are fairly fit, outgoing, and willing to experience a very different lifestyle. We especially want you if you have INITIATIVE, can work INDEPENDENTLY and INTUITIVELY. We welcome, men and women, from anywhere in the world and some understanding of English is preferred. In exchange for a great work ethic plus a littl...

We are in the process of renovating an old house in the Pyrenees. We live in a small village with some shops and a climbing centre and a river just opposite the house. We have a quite a size garden where we grow vegetables and fruit bushes and trees. Here, we have spectacular mountain views on our doorstep, hiking trails through the mountains and forests, cycling paths, and skiing in the winter months. We love company of other people, and love having visitors. There would be plenty of chances to be alone, if that is what one is looking for. We are both retired teachers that would be happy to help you improve your knowledge of English. We offer homestay experience. We can lend you a bicycle to do your own exploring, you can hike, take a bus or train to go further afield. We also like to explore the area and show it to our visitors. We are located 10km from Spain. We have fibre internet. We would cook together or take turns (so make sure you can cook some interesting vegetarian dish...

We need volunteers for lambing season mid-may until mid of June! Come help us (preferably for a full month) lamb all of our sheep and experience the wonders of life! Assist over 500 sheep in giving birth and bottle feed tiny little lambs and all the other disgusting and cute things that go along with it. Lambing season is hard work and we work in shifts of 9 hours, but with 5-10 volunteers living in the house you’ll have time for fun in the sun, 2 days off each week with a household shift (cooking and cleaning). Lambing truly is a once in a lifetime experience and a great opportunity to learn about farming, sheep, and Iceland in general. The shifts are long, the days are longer, but a rewarding and satisfying experience is waiting for you! Message us on WhatsApp or on HelpX. My WhatsApp number is also listed on the helpX. Send me (Caroline, who runs the helpX) a message! Or message the farmer directly via Facebook. Alexander Flumbri is the Facebook account, named after Beggi the farm...

Kia ora! Looking to have help from the middle of June. The home is a large Oamaru stone villa where my 18yr old son and 22yr old son and our tabby cat live. Our work does take us away from home from time to time and we need a bit of help to maintain the existing gardens, and to redevelop the pool area and vegetable gardens. We run a food truck (the yellow pickle) from our gardens, have small events occasionally and sometimes run garden tours. We have around 2 acres of garden - mainly flowers, hedges and mature trees with a pond which plays host to numerous fish and attracts numerous dragonflies, I hear a frog occasionally but haven't found it yet! The gardens are very tranquil. Happy to give days off around hiking etc. Ideally, you'll have a bit of garden knowledge, but most importantly you'll be fit, have initiative and a willingness to muck in and help outdoors. The majority of work will be weeding, pruning, trimming. I expect 4 hours of productive work each day in exchange ...

Thank you for visiting the profile of our project where we are happy to provide a safe and productive environment to host helpers: Seeking minimum 3 weeks to 1 month commitment. We prefer longer term but will also take shorter term if you have extraordinary skills of some sort. Our farm is 1 hectare sea-front hobby farm project on Isla Colon, located approximately half way between town and Bluff Beach. This project entails gardening, trimming, planting, weeding, starting new plants, and several tasks such as building trellises, building raised beds, other light building, painting, trail building, artistic painting, mosaic etc. For the last 25 years we have been zero waste, and have an assortment of recycled things to fix, upcycle, transform etc. We just built a little glass work studio, where we are learning to make fused glass and stained glass. We have build our second pond and could use some help in the design and initial plumbing of two waterfalls. Most of of the property has bee...

Muskoka is one of Canada's top Cottage capitals, with over 1,000 pristine lakes. Our property has many ponds and is located in the spring-fed kettle lakes hills that supply fresh water to Lake of Bays. Just steps away are four small lakes with blue heron rookeries, where moose, whitetail deer and other wildlife come for a drink. Those who love watching wildlife in their natural habitat will love our beautiful woodlands and lakes. As will those who enjoy fishing or bird watching. I want someone who is easy to talk to and has a good sense of humor. With Covid-19, it is good to have a consistent circle of friends. Because of this, I'm looking for at least a 3-month or more extended stay. The longer, the better if everything is working well. Both Kim and I have received the Pfizer Covid-19 vaccine so we can offer you a virus-free environment. I want this to be a family/friend environment where we help and support each other. I'm very political and lean towards the left. Bruce (me from San Francisco), Kim (my wife from Hamburg), Bennett (my service dog from CCI), Edna (Kim's favorite cat from the Humane Society), and Scarlet (the cautious cat from the crazy cat lady). in addition there is a puppy in training to be a service animal.. So if you're interested in coming out to the San Francisco bay area, then I might be that person for you. Of course, I would like to know more about you and how you think. Kim and I want you to feel like this is your home while you are ...

Animal Rescue and Sanctuary and Organic Vegan Farm in Central Costa Rica Hello everyone! What we do: We take care of animals, we grow organic food, we prepare and eat tasty vegan meals, we minimize our impact on the earth, and we enjoy the company of our Costa Rican friends and neighbors. We have run a volunteer program for over 16 years, and have had several hundred people come to work with us! Our farm is primarily an animal rescue, rehab and sanctuary. Our doors are open to animals in need. We currently have five rescue dogs, six goats, a pig, a horse, two cats, and two water buffalos. Some came off the streets, some were abandoned, others were injured and no longer wanted. We adopt out what we can, but most are retired and happy to live their lives on the farm. The 3.5 hectare property is covered with many tropical fruit trees, including water apple, mandarin orange, banana (many varieties), guayaba, guanabana, cas, ciamito, lime, coffee and araza. Depending on the season, w...

OUR PROJECT is the rehabilitation of a old stone farmhouse in the forest: As a family we started to change our life style to a more responsible one ( re-use of materials, less waste, vegetarian food, bying resposable and local, vegetable garden, grey water saving system/phyto). We are learning continuously and like to share experiences. We live in the South of France between Provence and Ardèche area at the border of the "Cevennes" national park. A beautiful natural environment, preserved biosphere. The village of Gagnieres, is named after the river which runs through the village and lies on the border of the Cevennes and Ardeche mountains. -    Public transportation available (you'll find a bus stop at a 10 minutes walk from our house). Nearest train station 45 minutes. Mountain bikes are available to explore the surroundings. Swim spots at the river not far from the house. A nice way to explore the surroundings is a long  bike trail ('voie verte') on the old railroadtracks going thr...

We run a boutique guest house and rental in this beautiful rural part of South West France. The house is an old French Manoir -lots of character and a special Boho beauty, that has been featured in many Interior magazines. Our gardens are large with fruit trees, wild mushrooms and herbs. We have chickens and a cat. We're looking for enthusiastic, easy going people to assist and contribute to general DIY, gardening, cleaning and in season help with breakfast service and cleaning of guest rooms. We love to welcome helpers with a sense of humour and sunny nature-you maybe 'front of house' in the months we are open to guests so previous hospitality experience is beneficial :) We enjoy cooking with the amazing local produce and whilst we do eat meat we are happy to eat vegetarian food. We may cook up a cosy family dinner and dine together or you have the use of the kitchen to prepare your own meal, there is always plenty to eat! We are the best of friends who live together and run a 24-hour restaurant in Oneonta, New York. We built our Deli with our own hands, using old rustic barn wood and other recycled materials. We love working together to serve good, wholesome food in a warm, encouraging environment — a haven from the storms of life. Our community is part of a worldwide network of communities, many of which also run restaurants, organic farms, and cottage industries where volunteers are also welcome to live and work with us. We all work together in our houses and at our Deli. There is a lot to do in maintaining a community. We have two large houses where we live and the Deli always needs constant care and attention. We enjoy having guests and volunteers who want to get to know us by living and working with us. We gather together every morning (at 7am) and evening (at 6pm) to express whatever is on our hearts. We sing a wide variety of songs we've written and we dance there to express our joy. We give...

Hello! I emigrated from Austria to Lapland 2015. 2019 I moved to my dream place. Here I now live with my 15 sled dogs - Scandinavian hounds - on a 1 hectare property in the middle of nature. The dogs are my hobby, I have a racing team and a 5 oldies. The most important are the dogs, everbody who comes here should love dogs! Our residential area is very snow reliable. Here in winter you can see wonderful snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and, with luck, northern lights. In summer there are trips to the forest for blueberries, cranberries and mushrooms. Nearby are several lakes where you can fish and paddle wonderfully. Whoever comes here comes into the middle of nature, a paradise for nature lovers! I need help with the dogs. That means feeding, training, repairing huts, shoveling snow out of the kennels, general snow removal. In summer and autumn we need help with repairs, construction work, in the household and in the garden. I like to go to the forest around our house, grill on the r...

This is a very healthy warm dry desert climate, where viruses do not thrive. At our farm here in the Coachella Valley we grow 6 varieties of dates; Medjool, Barhi, Khadrawi, Khalas, Halawi & Zahidi....and we also have young plantings of Jamaican plums. Date harvest will be from July 1st then into October, so we need help with picking then. Tasks include irrigation, pruning, picking, fertilizing, pollination, clean-up, compost, trenching, house cleaning, road repair. We clean our soaking pools regularly and the farm could use the help of an electrician, and also someone with adequate videography and editing skills. We also like to connect with folks who know how to operate a sewing machine, so we can repair our date bags. The hot springs is located in a very remote setting in the Coachella Valley of the southern California desert about 2 hours and 30 minutes from Los Angeles, or 50 miles southeast of Palm Springs, just off highway 111, in the morning shadow of the Chocolate Mountains, ...

Hi everyone! I am a working mother with two children - 11 year old boy (6th grade) and 7 year old girl (3rd grade). At home we practice bilingualism (Italian and Croatian) and do a lot of activities. We are also active in volunteering. We like to know the world and the people of the world. We live in an apartment without animals, with a terrace and a small garden, in a semi-central neighborhood of the town on the hill, called Macerata (about 40,000 inhabitants) located in the Marche region in central Italy (strategic position to tour Italy). Our neighborhood is very quiet and safe, there are several green areas. There is public transport but taking a walk, you can also get to the center on foot. The city hosts one of the oldest Italian universities (UNIMC since 1290) and during the summer a beautiful opera season takes place at the sferisterio. It is located half an hour from the Adriatic Sea and one hour from the mountains - the national park of Monti Sibilini. The whole area of the p...

We are a small friendly hostel in San Luis Obispo, California. We are near the coast, and halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco. We provide lodging for 24 guests from all around the world. We have four staff members who participate in the work exchange. For new volunteers, the work consists mainly of cleaning the hostel: making beds, cleaning bathrooms, sweeping, vacuuming, etc. Some volunteers, but not all, will be trained on the morning shift after they have been doing the cleaning shift for a few weeks. The morning shift is when we make our famous sourdough pancakes as well as help guests check-out, answer the phone, and respond to emails. We require 20 hours of work each week (usually 5 shifts, approximately 4 hours per shift) in exchange for a bed in a dormitory and some food such as rice, beans, lentils, quinoa, eggs, oatmeal, sourdough pancakes, and coffee. Because our facility is small, we cannot host children, pets, and most of the time we can not accept more tha...

We live on a beautiful sheep and beef farm between Greta Valley and Cheviot. We live on the coast at Napenape beach a beautiful beach for photography, walking, surf casting and diving. We are only a few kilometres away from the popular surf/swimming beach called Gore Bay. We are also very close to the Hurunui River which is well known for its trout and salmon fishing as well as kayaking. There are plenty of walking tracks near our farm. We have a small feijoa orchard and a large vegetable garden. We try hard to live off our land and love to entertain with friends. We have had over 40 different sets of helpers and really enjoyed making new friends and sharing some of our kiwi culture with them. we are very flexible with jobs and try to match the right job with the right person. We love living on a farm and are keen to share our skills with those interested in trying some new things. We are flexible with the hours worked and the jobs done. All meals will be included.

We are currently looking for helpers to schedule a stay with us on our beautiful property in the fabulous Fairmont Hot Springs, British Columbia, Canada for this year, between now and October 2024. We are young entrepreneurs, we own a resort & campground, located on the same property we live on. This will be our seventh year hosting helpers and we are looking forward to hosting travellers, showing you our beautiful home and making new friends :) We have a large area of natural land (150+ acres) in the Columbia Valley, a few kilometres north of Fairmont Hot Springs (1.5hours drive to Banff). There will be many odd jobs around the property as we continue to develop our small resort with 8 log cabins, 26 campsites and a 18 hole disc golf course. We are always working on developing and maintaining this beautiful place. We have come a long way in the last six years, starting with a very raw/untouched property. We have a bit of a small community here, with a few smaller houses next to our...
